May 1,

Reached the halfway point of number of treatment cycles.
A protein that indicates the presence of multiple myeloma
is not detectable. Should it remain undetectable through remaining cycles,
it would indicate that I'm in remission. I would be put on one medicine, at 1/5 dosage, and get checkups to assure no cancer return. We got this news yesterday, and are so indebted to each of you for your support through prayer, meals, visits, books, cards, phone calls, and email. They are vital.

  1. OMG, how wonderful! What terrific news, Jack. I'm so happy to hear that the cancer is not detectable. Just fabulous.
The state-of-the-art treatments, your positive attitude, strong and otherwise healthy constitution (including a powerful will to live) plus all the prayers and spiritual help from loving family and friends, makes for a most successful regimen. Did I mention being cared for by the Number One Caregiver in the World, aka Jeannie? That component is vital, too. Keep up the great work!
