March 6, 2010

Winter may be waning, spring ortends positive growth and attitude. To date my treatment has successfully built me for the up and down chemo battle at high doses beginning on Mar. 16. I am ready now. What is becoming evident is the large number of those suffering worse medical problems than mine and the dedicated caregivers who go above and beyond in their service. My life could have been less self centered and more in tuned with those in need. This would have benefitted others and yielded a more fulfilling and satisfying life with more contentment and less stress. If all of us thought "non zero sum" what a much better place this would be.

  1. In case you didn't know, Captain, I "was" a young man in need of a positive role model and your life and encouragement to me benefitted and yielded me a more fulfilling life. For a quarter century. I don't think you realize what you have meant to me and my family.

  2. Oh Jack, our life , all of our lives in this family, would have been so much less without you. All the serious talks, all the hysterical laughter; part of the joy of life.

  3. I have been thinking about you alot today, Jack. I just wanted to express thanks for the thousands of "souls" you flew around the world safely. If they are like me, they are very happy you never crashed one of those big buses!

  4. Jack, you have always given of yourself, generously, kindly and willingly, to all of us over the years. I appreciate it more than words can express. Now, we must somehow give back to you to help in your struggle against this disease and the "ups and downs" of the chemo battle. Wish there was something I could actually do!
